Welcome to Mount Elgon Eco Tours. By booking a tour or using our website, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a reservation.

1️⃣ Booking & Reservations

• All bookings must be made through our official website, email, phone, or WhatsApp.

• In certain circumstances, a deposit may be required to confirm your reservation. But we generally accept bookings without prior deposits.

• A booking is considered confirmed once you receive confirmation is sent by us.

• Clients must provide accurate personal information during booking.

 

2️⃣ Payments

• Prices are quoted in USD or UGX unless otherwise stated.

• Payments can be made via approved payment methods communicated by Mount Elgon Eco Tours.

• All the payments or the remaining balance (if applicable) must be paid before the start of the tour.

• Park fees and government charges are subject to change without prior notice.

 

3️⃣ Cancellation & Refund Policy

Client Cancellations

• Cancellations must be made in writing via email or WhatsApp.

• Refund eligibility depends on how early the cancellation is made.

• Some costs such as park permits and accommodation deposits may be non-refundable.

 

Company Cancellations

Mount Elgon Eco Tours reserves the right to cancel a tour due to:

• Severe weather conditions

• Safety concerns

• Government restrictions

 

In such cases, clients may receive:

• A rescheduled date, or

• A partial/full refund depending on circumstances

 

4️⃣ Health & Fitness Requirements

• Some hikes and treks require good physical fitness.

• Clients must inform us of any medical conditions before the tour.

• Participation is at your own risk.

• We recommend obtaining travel insurance before traveling to Uganda.

 

5️⃣ Travel Insurance

All clients are strongly advised to have comprehensive travel insurance that covers:

• Medical emergencies

• Trip cancellations

• Personal injury

• Loss of luggage

• Emergency evacuation

Mount Elgon Tours is not responsible for losses that could have been covered by travel insurance.

 

6️⃣ Liability Disclaimer

While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure safety:

• Mount Elgon Eco Tours is not liable for injury, illness, loss, damage, delay, or inconvenience caused by circumstances beyond our control.

• Clients must follow the instructions of guides at all times.

• We are not responsible for loss or damage of personal belongings during the tour.

 

7️⃣ Changes to Itinerary

We reserve the right to:

• Adjust itineraries due to weather or safety reasons

• Substitute accommodation of similar standard if necessary

• Modify routes within national park guidelines

All changes will prioritize client safety and experience.

 

8️⃣ Code of Conduct

All clients are expected to:

• Respect local communities and cultures

• Protect the environment

• Follow national park rules and regulations

• Treat guides and staff respectfully

9️⃣ Intellectual Property

• All website content, images, logos, and text belong to Mount Elgon Eco Tours.

• Unauthorized copying or reproduction is prohibited.

 

🔟 Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Uganda. Any disputes arising shall be resolved under Ugandan jurisdiction.
