Budadiri is a small town located in Sironko District, in eastern Uganda. It is situated on the western slopes of Mount Elgon National Park, making it a key destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers. The town lies approximately 15 km (9 miles) southeast of Sironko Town, the district headquarters, and about 30 km (24 miles) northeast of Mbale, the largest city in the Mount Elgon region.

Getting to Budadiri

Budadiri is strategically located near the main highway and is easily accessible from Mbale, the region’s main city. There are several public and private taxis traveling daily from Mbale to Budadiri. Visitors in Mbale can go to the Kumi Road Taxi Park to find taxis heading to Budadiri.

For those driving from Mbale, use Kumi Road and branch off to the right onto Sironko Road. Continue driving until you reach Nalugugu Trading Centre. From there, turn right onto Mutufu–Budadiri Road and proceed directly to Budadiri.

If you're coming from Kampala, there is a convenient option as well. Public taxis travel daily from Kampala to Budadiri. To catch one, go to the street opposite Uganda House in Kampala and ask for the taxis going to Budadiri.
