You will trek through the world’s largest mountain caldera, explore natural hot springs, and witness dramatic cliffs with 360-degree panoramic views. ________________________________________ 🗺️ Itinerary: 5 Day Mount Elgon Adventure Sasa Trail Day 1: Budadiri to Hunwick's Camp (2,882m) Start your trek with a 7.1km hike from the Elgon Trekkers Base Camp (1,720m). Ascend through tropical montane forests to reach Hunwick's Camp for your first night of high-altitude camping. Day 2: Ascent to Masaba Camp (3,745m) Climb through the bamboo and heather zones. This day offers incredible birdwatching and a chance to see unique Afro-alpine flora as you settle into Masaba Camp. Day 3: Triple Peak & Caldera Crossing (4,321m) The ultimate summit day. Conquer Masaba Table, Masaba Summit, and Wagagai Peak. Walk across the massive caldera floor to reach Kaiyah Camp (3,695m) near the volcanic hot springs. Day 4: Caldera Rim & Mude Cave Continue along the dramatic caldera rim with all of Elgon's highest peaks in sight. Descend to Mude Cave Camp (3,472m) or Sasa River Camp for your final night in the wilderness.
