6-Day Sipi Falls & Eastern Uganda Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Mbale & Transfer to Your Hotel
Arrive in Mbale, the gateway to Mount Elgon and Eastern Uganda. Meet your local guide and transfer to your Hotel.
On arrival, check in at your accommodation in Mbale Town and enjoy the evening charming night life in the Town. Depending on your arrival time, you can take an evening walk through mbale city and the buzzling streets of the this town

Day 2 – Eastern Uganda Cultural Museum & Community Experience
After breakfast, visit the Eastern Uganda Cultural Museum to learn more about the history, traditions and cultural heritage of communities in Eastern Uganda, including the Bagisu and Sabiny.
In the afternoon, enjoy a guided village walk and interact with local community members. This provides an opportunity to learn about everyday life, traditional practices and the relationship between local communities and the Mount Elgon landscape.
Return to your accommodation.

Day 3 – Imbalu Cultural Experience in Mbale & Budadiri
Spend the day exploring one of the important cultural traditions of the Bagisu people through an Imbalu Cultural Experience.
With a local cultural guide, learn about the history and significance of Imbalu, its role in community life and the traditions surrounding the ceremony. When taking place, you may also witness traditional Kadodi dances, music and celebrations.
The experience takes place in the Mbale/Budadiri area, followed by a return transfer to Sipi Falls.
Important: Imbalu activities are seasonal and depend on the local cultural calendar. The specific experience available on your travel date will be confirmed in advance.

Day 4 – Kapkwai Forest Hike in Mount Elgon National Park
Head to Kapkwai Exploration Centre for a guided forest walk in Mount Elgon National Park.
Accompanied by a Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) ranger, explore the forest environment and learn about the plants, trees, birds and wildlife of Mount Elgon.
The hike provides a gentler way to experience Mount Elgon's natural environment without undertaking a multi-day summit trek. Keep an eye out for forest birds, monkeys and the impressive vegetation of the mountain forest.
Difficulty: Easy to moderate
After the hike, enjoy lunch before returning to Sipi Falls.

Day 5 – Sipi Falls Hike & Authentic Coffee Experience
Today is the adventure highlight of the trip.
In the morning, hike to the three Sipi Falls, following local trails through the hills and countryside around Sipi. The waterfalls offer spectacular views and excellent opportunities for photography.
After the waterfall hike, experience the famous Sipi coffee culture with a local farming family.
Rather than simply tasting coffee, you will participate in the process from farm to cup. Depending on the season and availability, you can learn about coffee growing and take part in activities such as harvesting, processing, roasting, grinding and tasting locally grown Arabica coffee.
This hands-on experience gives you a closer look at how coffee is produced by farming communities around Mount Elgon.
