Introduction.
Are you planning to hike Mount Elgon in Uganda and looking for the perfect adventure? The 5 Day Trek via Sipi and Bushiyi Routes is one of the best and most enjoyable ways to explore Mount Elgon National Park.
This trek gives you enough time to enjoy the mountain slowly, safely, and comfortably. Unlike the shorter 3-day hike and 4-day Tour options (which may be tough and somehow rushed), this 5-day journey allows proper acclimatization, gradual elevation gain, and full exploration of the mountain’s beautiful vegetation zones.
You will hike from Kapkwai/Sipi Gate (2,020m) through Tutum Cave, Kajeri Camp, Mawongongo Camp, summit Wagagai Peak (4,321m), and descend via Bushiyi Ranger Post. It is scenic, less crowded, and perfect for both experienced and first-time hikers.
