4-Day Hike Bushiyi trail Mount Elgon Tour With this package, you will embark on an exhilarating 4-Day Hike Bushiyi trail , you will start from the Bushiyi Ranger Post in Bududa, Uganda and trek to the stunning Wagagai Summit at 4,321 meters above sea level. This out-and-back route allows you to fully immerse yourself in the majestic beauty of Mount Elgon, as you retrace your path back to the starting point—doubling your chances to taking in fully the unique beauty of Mount Elgon National Park. As you hike to and from the summit, you’ll experience varying perspectives of the scenery, with each direction offering fresh views of the mountain’s diverse ecosystems, lush forests, scenic valleys, and dramatic geological formations. 🗺️ Itinerary for 4-Day Hike Bushiyi trail Day 1: Arrival & Trek to Shiloko Camp (2,600m ASL) • Begin your day with breakfast and a boda boda ride (7 km) to Mount Elgon National Park – Bushiyi Trail Gate (1,800m ASL). • Meet your guide, porter, and cook, and register at the park. • Start your hike to Shiloko Camp through rich forested paths. • Rest and enjoy your first night of camping under the stars. Day 2: Trek to Dubi Camp (3,600m ASL) • After an early breakfast, hike through the steep, lush forest to Dubi Camp. • Arrive in time for lunch and relax at the campsite. • Enjoy a campfire evening, sharing stories and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. Day 3: Summit Wagagai Peak (4,321m ASL) & Return to Shiloko Camp • Enjoy a hearty breakfast before ascending through the heather zone. • Reach the Wagagai Peak, the highest point of Mount Elgon. • Take in sweeping views of Masaba, Koitobos, and Sudek Peaks. • After celebrations and photos, descend to Shiloko Camp for the night.
